Introducing: Jharis Yokley

JHARIS YOKLEY RELEASES “MOVE ON” - 1st SINGLE FROM FORTHCOMING ALBUM SOMETIMES, LATE AT NIGHT

YOUR FAVORITE DRUMMER’S FAVORITE DRUMMER RELEASES NEW ANTI-VALENTINE’S SAD BOY ANTHEM

Vocalist, producer and viral drummer Jharis Yokley releases Move On, the first single from his forthcoming debut album Sometimes, Late At Night. Produced by Yokley with José James, the track also features the cutting edge synth work of Japanese keyboard maestro BIGYUKI (A Tribe Called Quest, Yebba, Meshell Ndegeocello).

Yokley’s album sessions were recorded live as a duo between Yokley and BIGYUKI at both the celebrated upstate New York hideaway Dreamland Studios and the Los Angeles avant-garde hub Lucy’s Meat Market. The process of crafting Sometimes, Late At Night, however, began in solitude. Inspired by hip-hop legends like J. Dilla, Yokley found himself holed up in his room, pouring himself into a batch of homemade beats that would later form the album’s foundation.

The result is music you’ve (definitely) never heard before. With both “Move On” and his surrounding debut LP, Yokley arrives as a leader of new wave & experimental electronic R&B. Think James Blake meets Tame Impala meets Thundercat meets the singular greatest drummer you’ve heard yet. Yokley deftly and brilliantly steps beyond the confines of a cookie cutter drum album, creating a work that pulsates with cutting edge experimentation reflecting the Brooklyn, LA and Tokyo electronica scenes.

Sometimes, Late At Night is set for release on May 3, 2024, and will premiere live on May 17th at Nublu 151, NYC.
